My first interval session

My first attempt at running intervals ... (planned run = 15 mins)

Slightly annoyingly my Garmin didn't pick up the satellite signal for a bit (and it wasn't looking promising even doing the tradition 'hopping outside door to stay warm') so uploaded the Runkeeper report as that was what I was using to set times.

Plan was:
5 min steady
3 x 1 min fast/1 min slow-recovery
4 min steady

What actually ended up was:

5 min steady @ 10:08
1 min fast @ 7:11
1 min slow @ 9:57
1 min fast @ 7:52
1 min slow @ 12:47
Then the last two intervals ended up more like 4 x 30s (oops - messed up my statistics)
4 mins steady @ 12:12
And then I forgot to turn the app off! Garg (technology)

So turns out I'm not very good at judging how fast I'm going! Lesson should be that next time I should probably wait on my Garmin waking up so I can work things out a bit better. Pretty pleased I held the 7:11 and 7:52 pace as well as I did (that's usually my last 10 feet pace!).

Dare I say it? I think I quite enjoyed this!!! Even if it did hurt in places .... and the sunset as you can see was AMAZING.

Official GRG stats here (not including the bit where I forgot to turn watch off)
