Not really very happy with today's run - I mean I got up and out and finished it, but I BOMBED the first km going FAR too fast (for me anyway) and meant that I walked much more of the course (and probably slower) than the first time I did it. Was well off getting a PB and in fact did my slowest 5k yet.
However, lesson learned. Perhaps I need a gym session at some point to work out just exactly what my 10 min/mile pace SHOULD feel like so that next time I won't push so hard although I also think it was getting a little over excited. Grandad is coming up to do the parkrun with me on the 17th - so might run down to the seaside instead next Saturday and make sure I have a proper couple of rest days beforehand (rather than being lazy on Wednesday and leaving my run until Thursday). Hopefully another 2 weeks will make all the difference.
